Cult of the Lamb: The First Verse is illustrated by Eisner Award–nominated artist Troy Little, coloured by Nick Filardi, and written by Alex Paknadel. The quilt artwork, which matches the primary challenge of the comics, was created by Carles Dalmau.
Similar to the sport, the comedian books have a delightfully macabre humorousness and terrific artwork to match a narrative that touches upon a number of concepts seen within the supply materials.
Here is the official description from Oni Press:
“In a land pervaded by cruelty and evil, essentially the most harmless amongst us–young Lamb–was chosen to turn out to be a noble sacrifice. Their demise could be the magical ceremony that may endlessly seal the darkest of the Outdated Gods out of our realm and usher in a brand new age of bounty. So Lamb died, however then they made a deal of their very own. On the crossroads of eternity, Lamb was met by the imprisoned deity referred to as the One Who Waits, who revealed the falsehoods and distortions of the false prophets who rule the world and the Outdated Religion. And so, Lamb was given a alternative: Enter oblivion as meant, or return to the land of dwelling with unholy powers and ship a brand new cult unto the Earth.”
